Composer Songwriter Guitar Piano Voice Teacher

Maria Staump is a composer, educator, and multi-instrumentalist from San Diego, Ca. She is a strong believer in the importance of music education and has been teaching regularly for the past six years. Maria is the Director of Education for Staump Productions LLC Music School, and she currently teaches over sixty students every month. Maria is also the founder and director of the East County Youth Guitar Ensemble. She is a San Diego Parks and Recreation Instructor, and works with the music programs at many of the public schools in San Diego. Maria has been invited as a special guest to NAMM's Music Education Days, and is a member of MTNA, Music Teachers National Association, and MENC, the National Association for Music Education.

In February of 2008, Maria released her first instrumental album "Mi Vida Bonita,". In addition to her first album, she has digitally released three singles, "Just a Dreamer," "High," and "Dia Feliz." She has received press from The San Diego Downtown Newspaper, and has been featured by Express Jet Magazine as "A modern composer with traditional tools" Maria Staump is a highly trained multi-instrumentalist, vocalist, and teacher. Her single, "Mi Vida Bonita," was downloaded over 1200 times during the 3 month period. Maria also wrote a jingle that was selected by Microsoft, and her video was featured on their Youtube's front page, "Independent artist Maria Staump quite literally sings the praises of the Windows-sponsored free music giveaway. Maria received her degree in music from Grossmont College. She has studied with pianist Steve Baker, vocalist and conductor Dr. Randall Tweed, and guitarists George Svoboda, and Fred Benedetti. Maria performs solo, and with the Maria Staump Band throughout Southern California. She performs every Thursday evening at Carlos Santana's Maria Maria La Cantina in San Diego. She has arranged music for various community organizations, and has had several compositions performed by the Grossmont College Guitar Ensemble. Maria is currently working on her second album due to come out in early 2011.
